While it may be impossible for us to live without phones, it is not impossible to try and stay off of our phones as much as we can.
My name is Emily Brubaker and I am a sophomore at California State University, Northridge in California. I am majoring in Journalism with an emphasis in Broadcast.
I began realizing that my addiction to my cellphone was keeping me from living my life how I wanted. I was so focused on what everyone else was doing online that I forgot that I have my own life too.
This blog is useful because it helps people realize that we don’t need our phones to be a constant part of our lives. This blog topic is important because cellphone addiction is not talked about as much as it should be among students. I am the person to best author this blog because my schoolwork and mental health have increased drastically now that I do not reach for my phone as often.
My theme explores the idea that students are addicted to their cell phones and what kind of satisfaction they get from checking it so often.
Instead of living in the moment, it seems that students prefer to live in their phone. They gain a sort of contentment while being on their phones. Instead of just walking to class, they have to see how many views their snapchat story got. Instead of meeting with a friend in person, they just text them. We shouldn’t rely on our phones 100% of the time.
